The Zimmer Cryo cooling device is a skin numbing solution and your best friend during treatment. This machine blows cold air to helps minimize pain and reduces thermal injury from the laser. It works by emitting freezing cold air (-30ºC) through a long hose and provides rapid and effective numbing to the skin.

Does it hurt?

Clients often describe the treatment like getting your skin snapped with a rubber band or being splattered with bacon grease. It is uncomfortable but tolerable. Every client will experience a “test spot” before starting treatment. We use Zimmer Cryo Therapy to reduce pain considerably and also to protect the surface of the your skin from injury.

How long are the treatments?

Treatment time depends on the size of your tattoo and the number of ink colors. The majority of treatments are completed in under 5 minutes for a small to medium single color tattoo and 10-45 minutes for a medium to large size multi-color tattoo.

How many sessions are necessary?

Tattoos are designed to be permanent; consequently, for effective removal it is necessary to undergo a series of treatments. Each treatment is typically spaced 8 - 12 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and your body to process the ink. Depending on a variety of factors, virtually all tattoos can be completely cleared with our technology.

There are several factors that determine the ease with which we can remove your tattoo including but not limited to:

  1. Amount of Ink - The density of the tattoo ink and if it were applied professionally or not.

  2. Ink Colors - Multicolored tattoos will typically require more treatments than a single dark blue or black tattoo.

  3. Layers - If the tattoo has been covered by another; it may take more treatments to remove.

  4. Location of Tattoo - Body areas with better circulation, such as the head and neck, require fewer treatments than an extremity such as hand or foot.

  5. Presence of Scarring - The presence of scarring within the tattoo can increase the number of treatments needed.

  6. Skin Type - Darker skin types may require more treatments.

Will there be any scarring?

Scarring is rare, but it is possible if the aftercare instructions are not followed; All of which we will cover in detail with you during your Consultation.

Can only a portion of my tattoo be removed?

Absolutely! Many of our clients have a portion of a tattoo they would like to have completely removed or faded for a coverup, and we can target just those desired areas of the tattoo for you.

What’s involved in aftercare?

Aftercare is an essential part of the tattoo removal process. We will cover appropriate aftercare in detail with you during your complimentary Consultation and at the conclusion of each treatment. You will also receive a copy for future reference.

How long do I have to wait between treatments?

Each tattoo is unique due to many factors. All of these will be covered, in detail, during your complimentary Consultation. Typically, we schedule each treatment 8 - 12 weeks apart initially, as mentioned above. Depending on your tattoo ink, your skin type and the which your body uniquely responds to treatment or your desired outcome, we may need to adjust your treatment schedule.

What if I only want to fade my tattoo / get it covered?

We help many clients achieve fading goals for new ink. We can stop treatments when your tattoo artist is happy with the results and believes we have reached a point in which he/she can give you the tattoo you desire.
